TRIO Day Important Information

TRIO Day is a time for celebration, reflection, and action as we recognize the importance of expanding access to higher education. The Federal TRIO Programs support low-income and first-generation students in pursuing and completing their college degrees.

This annual celebration honors TRIO participants, promotes student leadership, and provides professional development opportunities for TRIO staff. It also includes identifying and collaborating with a New Mexico state legislator to sponsor the TRIO Day Memorial.

This year, in order for our students to experience the capitol in session, and our legislators to witness the impact that TRIO has on our students, the event will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2026. Given recent developments, we will be focusing on empowering our students to advocate for the TRIO programs that have supported them throughout their academic careers.

      TRIO New Mexico 2026 Annual Conference

      TRIO New Mexico invites you to join us for our 2026 Annual Conference at San Juan College in Farmington, NM, which will be held on April 14–16, 2026, with a Pre-Conference Workshop on April 14, 2026.

      The TRIO New Mexico Annual Conference is designed to welcome new members, promote professional development, and guide and support TRIO professionals who provide educational services to students at various TRIO programs throughout the State of New Mexico. The conference will provide numerous professional development opportunities, chances to connect with your TRIO family, vendor access, and external networking with the Council for Opportunity in Education (COE) and the Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs (SWASAP).

      Registration Deadlines & Costs

      • All attendees must be paid-in-full to attend any and all conference events.
      • Service Award Recipients: Register by Friday, March 6, 2026
      • Registration Closes: Friday, March 20, 2026
      • No Early Bird Rate

      Rates:

      • Pre-Conference Workshop: $75 (Details and registration coming soon)
      • TRIO NM Regular Member: $175
      • Non-Member: $195

      Refund Policy

      • Refund requests must be submitted in writing to theTRIO NM Treasurer Lani Padilla by email padillal@sanjuancollege.edu, no later than Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
