Cocktail # 1: Passionfruit Margarita

Ingredients:

    • passion fruits or passion fruit juice
    • limes
    • simple syrup
    • triple sec
    • tequila

RECIPE for Simple Syrup is found below:

Simple syrup is just as the name suggests, very simple. Combine equal parts sugar and water in a small pot. Bring to a low boil or until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for 2 weeks.

Note on Passion Fruit:                                                                                               Fresh passion fruit may be a bit hard to come by so a passion fruit juice would be a great substitute. Ceres and Goya both make passion fruit   juice  you can find at most grocery stores.

Note on Ingredient Substitutions:

If you are unable to find passion fruits or juices, please feel free to substitute any regional or preferred fruit.

Mocktail #2: Blood Orange Mint Sparkler

Ingredients:

  • blood oranges or blood orange juice
  • mint leaves
  • simple syrup
  • sparkling water
RECIPE for Simple Syrup is found below:

Simple syrup is just as the name suggests, very simple. Combine equal parts sugar and water in a small pot. Bring to a low boil or until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat and let it cool. Store in a sealed container in the fridge for 2 weeks.

Note on Blood Oranges:                                                                          Blood orange season wraps up in April, so if you can’t get fresh     produce you can use bottled juice. Trader Joe’s and some   nationwide grocery stores carry both carbonated and   uncarbonated.

    Note on Ingredient Substitutions:

If you are unable to find blood oranges or juices, please feel free to substitute  oranges or any regional or preferred fruit.

Meet our Guest Mixologist Katherine Roberts

Hello, my name is Katherine Roberts. I am from Baton Rouge, Louisiana and like most of us I’ve been making cocktails at home for the last year.

Back in March 2020 when we first started staying at home, I hosted a daily virtual happy hour with my friends through Instagram. I would post a photo on my personal Instagram story of my cocktail and it's ingredients, then invite others to share their beverage of the day.

Very quickly, I became bored with the same cocktail each night and began to search for new and unique recipes to try. In late April, two of my friends joked that I should start an Instagram account dedicated to sharing my newly acquired cocktail expertise. That evening I sat on my parents' back patio and created Cocktails With Katherine.

My goal is to demystify cocktails - to make them fun and accessible for the “at home bartender.”

    Cheers!

    Katherine Roberts
